It did take that long for someone to introduce colourful layer slushies in Singapore, slurping it down as we stride down Orchard Road in hot weather. Would this be the next big thing here?
Juicy Slush newly opened at SCAPE has given the frozen beverage with a twist. The slushies are made from 100% fruit juices and tea brewed freshly every day.
NO ice was added in the process.
The psychedelic appearance could send this slushy into instagram stardom, and most importantly, you (the creative customer) can decide on that final look.
Here’s how Juicy Slush works:
Step 1: Order the slush base from 6 flavours available which includes green tea, black tea, mango juice, pink guava juice, lemonade, and green apple.
Step 2: Add a free fruit mix-in, such as strawberry, raspberry, peach, mixed berries, mango
Step 3: You may choose to add-on pomelo pulp, red tea jello, lychee, nata de coco etc at 50 cents or $1.
Step 4: Top it up with a different flavour (or you can choose the same)
After out trying a few different combinations, I have decided that my favourite was the Black Tea + Red Tea Jello + Green Tea in that order.
As a drink tip, drink the base first with a straw, then try the top, and mix it all together for a blend of tastes. It is as though you are trying out 3 drinks.
Another popular choice would be any tea plus fruit juice combination. I personally found that two fruit juices together could be too sweet, and having tea balanced the sugariness with that slight bitter savour.
The guy at the counter told me, “Green apple with green tea… very nice, very popular.” And I added lychee on top. Power, right?
A regular Frozen Slush is at $4.50, while a large cup cost $5.50. Additional toppings are priced at 50 cents or a dollar.
Oh yes, Juicy Slush is located at Level 2 within Scape itself. Be creative with your selection. Have fun!
