Bobii Frutii known for its colourful, instagrammable pearls, has just opened another outlet at Suntec City Mall West Wing.
Compared to its first outlet at The Clementi Mall, this has a small sit-down area.
Local actor Nat Ho of Tanglin fame, is also the Brand Ambassador and Creative Director.
These pearls aka bobii (Taiwanese slang for tapioca pearls) are preservative-free and come in 3 different flavours: Original ($0.60), Butterfly Pea ($0.90) and Brown Sugar ($0.90).
They are made in Taiwan and air-flown to Singapore to ensure freshness and consistency.
The menu in Singapore features a total of 37 drinks in a single cup size and divided into 5 different categories – Tea/Au Lait aka “served with milk” in French ($2.50 – $3.90), Ice Blended ($5.90 – $6.90), Matcha ($4.90 – $6.50), Fruit Tea ($3.90 – $5.90) and Cheese Tea, exclusive to Singapore ($4.50 – $5.90).
Apart from their aesthetically pleasing appearance, their signature items have funky names that made people wonder what the flavours are.
The names include Mermaid’s Tears ($5.50), Don’t Want To Work ($3.90), Pandora Treasures ($5.50), Childhood Memory ($3.90), Green Romance ($3.90), Pandora’s Treasure ($5.50) and Don’t Want To Grow Up ($5.90).
One of their most popular choices would be Uji Snow ($6.50) of matcha, milk and original bobii.
The good thing is, most of their drinks had a recent price reduction of between 40 cents to a dollar.
As there is a recent Fruit Tea craze in Singapore, I decided to go for the Orange Green Tea with blue-coloured bobii ($4.90).
For those who love softer bubbles with slight sweetness, this would be your cup of tea, literally.
I found the drink to the slightly sweet sight – wasn’t given a choice of sweetness, which covered the delicate fragrance of the tea.
